Terra Nova Trusses has been a certified user of In-Plant AWTFA QC, a program developed by the AWTFA (Atlantic Wood Truss Fabricators Association) to help truss manufacturers manage the quality of the trusses they produce.
In-Plant AWTFA QC is a voluntary program that provides internal quality control measures in truss manufacturing plants across Atlantic Canada. It establishes the frequency and criteria by which trusses are checked by the manufacturer for accuracy of cutting, assembly and plate placement, and the quality of the wood used to create the final product.
AWTFA regularly monitors the data from certified companies to ensure compliance with program criteria. Currently, Terra Nova Trusses is one of only 20 certified plants in Atlantic Canada to be certified.
The voluntary implementation of the In-Plant AWTFA QC program demonstrates Terra Nova Trusses’ commitment to quality. We are able to quantitatively spot trends in the manufacturing process, which provides an opportunity to see problems and resolve them before they impact production.
Terra Nova Trusses has been committed to quality production, timeliness and customer service enhancements. Customers appreciate the ability to sit with the truss designer before the final plan is approved. Where stamped drawings are required, we avail of the engineering service of Mitek. This is particularly important in commercial work and large residential jobs.
Clients often need additional assistance in the placement of truss systems. Terra Nova Trusses adds value by labeling each truss with a waterproof identification truss tag to match the truss plan, assisting the contractor when erecting trusses.
