Wall Panels/Shell Packages FAQ’s
Prefabricated wall panels are being widely used currently in new home construction, garage, and commercial projects across North America, as well as in our own province now. With the labor shortages in our current market, having the ability to prefab walls, floors, and roofs in a controlled work setting will certainly be the way of the future. Dimensional lumber is cut using automated saws, and wall plates are marked using automated printers, speeding up the process and ensuring all rough stud openings are in the correct location.
Components are pre-engineered to ensure your wall panels are up to code. No more onsite guesswork and errors that are picked up during final inspections. This can be costly and can slow down your project. Wall panels can be a great help to our local contractors. Panels can be prefabricated while the contractor focuses on other projects.
Once the contractor is ready to start their project, walls can be delivered and installed in under an hour, depending on the size of the project. As quickly as they can be offloaded from our truck, they are being installed with sometimes only two crew members and a crane driver. Wall panels are cheaper, faster, and better!
Dimensional lumber, floor sheeting, floor joists, wall panels, and roof trusses are all components that go into the structural frame or “shell” of a new house, garage, or commercial structure. Our local market usually refers to this as “shelling in a house.” For those who would like to deal with one company that can provide all components, including the installation of the “shell,” Terra Nova Trusses can offer that service. Windows, doors, shingles, and siding are not included in our “shell” packages.
Terra Nova Trusses has the ability to provide a full structural package to the customer. Once the foundation is completed, we can take your project from the sill plate to the top peak. Floor joists, floor sheeting, wall panels, roof trusses, roof sheeting, eave package, and ceiling strapping can all be provided and installed by our third-party team or our in-house crew.
Terra Nova Trusses delivers all loose materials and components to your job site.
